Why schools bring in the G-Code

Prevention works best before the incident.

Too often, schools engage boys on these topics only after something has gone wrong: a group chat, a photo, a party, a complaint. The G-Code is designed to reach them earlier, while habits and peer norms are still forming.

Sessions are interactive. Students work through realistic scenarios, practice what they would actually say, and write a personal code of conduct they present to their peers. The emphasis is on building character, courage and judgment, not on lecturing boys about what not to do.

The program draws on approaches the CDC identifies in its sexual violence prevention strategies, including bystander approaches, healthy relationship skills and mobilizing men and boys as allies. The G-Code curriculum itself is new and has not yet been through an independent outcome evaluation; we'll be transparent about what we measure.

Learning objectives

What students practice.

Consent and personal boundaries

Middle schoolers learn respect, asking permission and that "no" is a full sentence. High schoolers learn that consent is clear, freely given, ongoing and can be withdrawn, and how alcohol and incapacitation affect it.

Peer pressure and independent decisions

Role-plays and drills help students hold their own position when a group is moving the wrong way.

Bystander intervention

Students learn the 5 Ds (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, Direct) and rehearse "hard sentences" they can use with friends and teammates.

Digital behavior and group chats

Screenshots, image sharing, "just joking" and what to do when something crosses a line online.

Situational awareness

Reading a room, recognizing a dangerous situation, and having a plan to leave or get help.

Accountability and character

Reputation vs. character, owning mistakes, and a personal G-Code each student writes and presents.

Partnership formats

Choose the depth that fits your school.

We're clear about what runs today and what we design with you. Formats marked "by arrangement" are scoped on a planning call before anything is confirmed.

Available now

Sponsored seats in public cohorts

Enroll individual students, or sponsor seats for students who couldn't otherwise attend, in the live virtual G-Code cohorts for grades 7–8, 9–10 and 11–12.

By arrangement

Private multi-week student cohort

A G-Code cohort delivered for your students only, with the same small-group structure, weekly sessions and final G-Code presentation, plus a parent session.

By arrangement

Facilitated workshop or assembly

A single session for a grade level, team or advisory group on consent, peer pressure and stepping in, including "The Talk Before Campus" for juniors and seniors.

By arrangement

Parent information session

An evening session for families on how to talk with sons about consent, parties, alcohol and phones, so school and home use the same language.

By arrangement

Staff-facing presentation

An educational briefing for counselors, coaches and advisors on how the G-Code approaches these conversations and how to reinforce them. This is not compliance training.

By arrangement

Customized programming

Teams, boys' affinity groups, senior transition programs or mentoring initiatives can combine formats into a longer engagement.

Safeguards

Built for the questions your counselors will ask.

  • Led by Jeff Lindor, founder of Gentlemen's Factory, with a licensed clinician co-facilitating student sessions
  • Two adults present at all times; student sessions are never recorded
  • Parental consent for every participating student; background checks for all adults
  • Age-separated groups and an age-appropriate, non-explicit junior high curriculum
  • A trauma-informed approach, with support resources shared every session
  • Disclosures and safety concerns are routed to the school's designated staff and appropriate professionals
Parent communication

Families stay informed.

We provide a plain-language program overview you can send home before sessions begin, and can pair any student program with a parent information session. Weekly recaps describe topics covered, never individual students' comments.

Measuring what matters

For multi-week engagements we can use short pre- and post-program surveys of knowledge and bystander confidence and share aggregate, de-identified results with your team. We'll agree on any evaluation measures with you in advance.

Scope

What the G-Code is, and isn't.

Can a school hire someone to teach students about consent?

Yes. Schools can partner with Gentlemen's Factory to bring G-Code sessions to students, either by sponsoring seats in our public virtual cohorts or by arranging a private workshop, cohort or parent session. Start with the proposal request below.

Is this Title IX or harassment-compliance training?

No. The G-Code is preventive education. It complements, but does not replace, your school's required Title IX, anti-harassment or health-education obligations, policies or reporting procedures.

Is it only for boys?

The G-Code is designed for boys and young men. Its content on consent, boundaries and stepping in is relevant to all students; ask us about mixed-group formats when you request a proposal.

Do you work with schools outside New York?

Yes. Virtual delivery works for schools anywhere in the U.S. In-person delivery outside the New York area is considered case by case.

How does this relate to Gentlemen's Factory's other school programs?

Gentlemen's Factory also offers school-based leadership programs for boys focused on confidence, communication and career readiness. The G-Code is the focused program on consent, courage and character; the two can be combined.
